Overview - Autumn/Winter 2011-12

A new season and a new design dossier, now online for faster and more immediate information that we will be updating throughout the season. First we highlight the trends for autumn/winter 2011-12 as we see the global markets start to dust themselves off and get back to business. Progression will be slow and that will manifest itself in the industry playing it safe and reworking tried and tested formulas rather than opting for the uncertainty of the new. We have seen this influence at all levels of the market. From this winter's classic revival at high street level with a raft of grown-up clothes influenced by Celine, Stella McCartney and Chloe's fall collections to the recent runway shows for next summer, full of revivalist 70s looks worked around familiar best selling silhouettes. To that end, this season we have evolved earlier Evans McDaniel trends, amplifying their messages and taking them one step further in the fashion cycle. In this dossier we celebrate the past with references drawn from the glamorous early part of the 20th century to the dramatic Elizabethan era and see how its influence can have an impact on the mainstream 2011s. In another trend, we identify the new post recessionary landscape and liken it to a post-apocalyptic future where heritage crafts sit side by side with a new sense of futurism.

Later in the season we will be updating this dossier with the latest consumer issues and relating them back to their importance to the fur industry.
